The Kabul Tribune (KT)— Qatar’s deputy secretary of the National Security Council met with Taliban Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani during a visit to Kabul, Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Interior Ministry said.
The ministry said the two sides discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and Afghanistan and engagement with the international community. It did not provide further details about the meeting.
The Qatari official arrived in Kabul on Wednesday. Separately, the head of Turkey’s intelligence agency also traveled to the Afghan capital.
There were no immediate official details on the agenda of the Turkish intelligence chief’s visit or whether he held meetings with Taliban officials.
