The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Nearly 600 Afghan migrant families returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan over the past day, according to the Taliban's commission for addressing migrant issues.
The commission said 568 families entered the country through four major border crossings. Of those, 517 families returned via Torkham, 42 through Spin Boldak, seven through Islam Qala, and two through Bahramcha in Helmand province.
The announcement follows the return of 635 migrant families reported a day earlier.
The number of Afghans returning from neighboring countries has risen sharply in recent weeks as Pakistan and Iran continue deportation and repatriation efforts targeting undocumented Afghan nationals.
Earlier, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said that about 3.3 million Afghan migrants had returned to Afghanistan since the beginning of 2025, underscoring growing humanitarian and reintegration challenges.
