The Kabul Tribune (KT) — U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held an 85-minute phone call to discuss the war in Ukraine, Iran, the Middle East and other international issues, according to Russian officials.
Moscow said the war in Ukraine was the main focus of the conversation ahead of the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara.
Yuri Ushakov, the Kremlin's foreign policy adviser, told Russia's RIA Novosti news agency that the two leaders discussed possible ways to resolve the war in Ukraine, including Trump's participation in the NATO summit in Türkiye.
According to Ushakov, Trump and Putin also exchanged views on Iran, the broader Middle East and several other international issues.
The phone call came just hours after Trump spoke separately with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the latest developments in the war and ongoing efforts to end the conflict.
