The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Iran has criticized a U.S.-led regional security meeting in Bahrain, describing it as a "political show" and accusing Washington of using the gathering to conceal what Tehran called its destabilizing policies in the region.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said in a post on X on Thursday that the United States has repeatedly demonstrated its lack of commitment to achieving genuine peace in West Asia and argued that such meetings are nothing more than a "political show."

Baghaei also accused Washington of organizing the meeting to mask its "destabilizing" policies in the region and urged regional countries to remain vigilant about the consequences of those policies.

The meeting brought together senior military officials from 12 Middle Eastern countries and the U.S. Central Command, with defense cooperation and maritime security serving as its primary agenda items.
