The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban's Economic Deputy Office has approved a proposal to build a six-story commercial market in Kabul at an estimated cost of nearly 118 million Afghanis.

According to a statement issued by the office, the proposal was presented to the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee during its regular meeting and was approved following a technical review.

The statement said the commercial market will be constructed by the private sector on land owned by the Taliban's Ministry of Finance in Kabul's District 1. The project, valued at approximately 118 million Afghanis, will include the necessary commercial facilities and infrastructure.

The Economic Deputy Office also said the committee discussed separate proposals to construct commercial markets in Kabul's District 5 and in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in Balkh Province.

According to the statement, those proposals have been referred to the relevant ministries for technical and professional assessments, after which their findings will be submitted to the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee for further consideration.
