The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Ebrahim Azizi, head of Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, has warned that any violation of a memorandum expected to be formally signed between Iran and the United States on Friday would be met with a “crushing response” from Tehran.
Azizi wrote on X that the resistance of the Iranian people has led to a shift in the United States’ approach, forcing Washington to enter negotiations based on Iran’s conditions.
He added that, to demonstrate its commitment to the agreement, the United States must end the war in Lebanon and fully adhere to all provisions of the deal. Otherwise, Iran would consider the era of “unilateral imposition” to be over.
The remarks come amid recent reports of ceasefire violations and rising tensions in Lebanon, which have cast a shadow over ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
