The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Donald Trump, the president of the United States, has said that any enriched uranium linked to Iran must either be handed over to the United States or destroyed under international supervision.
Trump stated that under any potential agreement, “the enriched uranium will either be immediately turned over to the United States… or destroyed in place,” adding that atomic energy officials would oversee the process.
He emphasized that any future deal with Iran must be “good and proper,” while sharply criticizing the nuclear agreement reached under former President Barack Obama.
Trump has repeatedly opposed the earlier deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, arguing that it did not impose sufficient limits on Iran’s nuclear program.
His latest remarks highlight a continued hardline stance on Iran, focusing on stricter controls and enforcement mechanisms in any future agreement.
