The Kabul Tribune (KT) — IRNA reported that Iran said U.S. demands, shifting positions, and continued military pressure are obstructing progress in ongoing negotiations, adding that no clear breakthrough is expected under current conditions.

According to IRNA, Tehran described U.S. demands as “excessive, unreasonable, and unrealistic,” accusing Washington of repeatedly changing its stance and maintaining contradictory positions throughout the talks.

The agency said the continued U.S. naval blockade constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreement and has further complicated efforts to advance negotiations. It also criticized what it described as threatening rhetoric from U.S. officials, saying it has contributed to the lack of progress.

“Under these conditions, there are no clear signs of fruitful negotiations,” the report said.

Iran also rejected U.S. media narratives about the talks, calling them part of a “media game” aimed at shifting blame and increasing pressure on Iran.

Meanwhile, a White House official told Anadolu Agency that U.S. Vice President JD Vance, along with envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are expected to travel to Pakistan for a new round of talks with Iran.

Donald Trump told Fox News that meetings are scheduled for Tuesday in Islamabad, with the possibility of extending into Wednesday.

Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been significantly disrupted since the start of the U.S.-Israel war against Iran on Feb. 28, further raising concerns over global trade and energy security.
