The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Fox News reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said the war with Iran is approaching its end.

Speaking in an interview, Trump said, “If I pull back right now, it would take them 20 years to rebuild their country. We are not finished yet, but we will see what happens.”

He added that he believes Iran is highly interested in reaching an agreement.

The U.S. president also stressed that without certain decisions he made, Iran would have obtained nuclear weapons.

Trump warned that if Iran were to acquire nuclear weapons, the balance of power in the region would shift significantly, forcing others to accept its conditions — a situation he described as unacceptable.

The remarks come as direct talks between United States and Iran in Islamabad ended without an agreement. Efforts are currently underway to organize another round of negotiations between the two countries.
