The Kabul Tribune (KT) - U.S. intelligence officials believe that China may soon provide Iran with new air-defense weapons, according to a report cited by NBC News.
When asked about the possibility, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that China could face “serious consequences” if it moves forward with supplying military support to Iran.
The situation highlights rising tensions after 21 hours of U.S.-Iran negotiations in Islamabad failed to produce an agreement. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Iran chose not to accept U.S. demands, including halting the development of nuclear weapons.
Earlier, CNN also reported that China is preparing to provide a new air-defense system to Iran.
