The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Cricket’s fiercest rivalry takes center stage Sunday as India and Pakistan clash in the final of the 2025 Asia Cup in Dubai.
The match, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Kabul time at the
Dubai International Cricket Stadium, is expected to be one of the most watched
and high-energy contests of the year.
India stormed into the championship match after crushing
every opponent in the eight-team tournament, showcasing the dominance that made
them reigning 20-over world champions. Pakistan, meanwhile, secured their spot
with a narrow 11-run victory over Bangladesh on Thursday, setting up a
blockbuster showdown with their archrivals.
The final comes just months after deadly border clashes
between the nuclear-armed neighbors, who have not played a bilateral series in
more than a decade. The stakes are high both on and off the field as fans
across South Asia and beyond brace for a high-voltage contest.
