The Kabul Tribune (KT) —The Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works reported on
Tuesday that over 135,487 tons of goods were transported through Afghanistan’s
railways during the past week. (Taliban Ministry of Public Works,
Nov. 11, 2025)
According to the ministry, 97,396 tons were moved from
Hairatan port, 8,057 tons from Aqina, 18,823 tons from Torghundi, and 11,211
tons via the Khaf–Herat railway route.
The ministry noted that 269 tons were exports, primarily
pomegranate juice, while the remainder consisted of imports, including both
petroleum and non-petroleum goods.
Taliban officials said the rail network continues to
facilitate significant trade flows, connecting key border ports and supporting
both domestic and international commerce.
