The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghan and Kazakh traders signed trade agreements worth more than $360 million on the sidelines of the Afghan-Kazakh Trade Forum in Shymkent, the Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce said Tuesday.
The agreements, signed between 15 companies from both
countries, cover sectors including petroleum, flour, wheat, food products,
transportation, detergents, pasta, and joint investments, according to the
ministry.
Taliban Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nooruddin Azizi,
said Afghanistan is ready for expanded cooperation with regional private
sectors, citing current stability and investor facilitation.
Kazakh officials welcomed the Afghan delegation and
emphasized strengthening economic ties, improving transport links, and
facilitating travel for traders from both countries.
The trade forum coincided with the Taliban minister’s
official visit to Kazakhstan and aimed to expand economic cooperation and
establish long-term business relationships between Afghan and Kazakh traders.
