The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Afghan cricket team defeated Nepal by 17
runs in their opening match of the Hong Kong Sixes tournament.
Afghanistan’s bowling stars, Farmanullah Safi (1/19) and Ejaz Ahmadzai
(1/16), delivered impressive spells that restricted the opponent’s batting
lineup and laid the foundation for victory.
Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first. From the start of the
innings, Gulbadin Naib played a blistering knock, scoring a quick half-century
off just 12 balls, including five massive sixes and four boundaries.
By the sixth over, Afghanistan had scored 148 runs for the loss of two
wickets.
The Afghan side will now play their second match against South Africa. The
match began at 10:30 a.m. Kabul time at the Hong Kong ground.
