The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Bangladesh completed a clean sweep of Afghanistan in their three-match T20 international series, winning the third and final game by six wickets Sunday after another commanding chase powered by Saif Hassan’s unbeaten half-century.

Sent in to bat first, Afghanistan struggled once again and managed only 143 for 9 in their 20 overs. A late flourish from Darwish Rasooli and No. 10 Mujeeb Ur Rahman lifted them to a modest total after a sluggish start and poor middle overs.

Bangladesh chased down the target with two overs to spare, following the same successful blueprint they used throughout the series. Saif led the charge with an unbeaten 64 off 38 balls, smashing seven sixes and two fours to anchor the innings after opener Tanzid Hasan set the tone early.

Tanzid provided early fireworks before being dismissed for a quick 20. Parvez Hossain also looked promising with a four and a six before falling to Azmatullah Omarzai in the fifth over, caught at mid-off after mistiming a lofted drive.

Saif took control from there, attacking the Afghan bowlers with confident strokes — including sweeps, flicks, and straight hits over the ropes. Despite a brief stutter in the middle overs, Bangladesh’s lower order held steady, with captain Nurul Hasan hitting the winning runs.

Bangladesh’s 3-0 sweep in Sharjah underlined their growing strength in the shortest format, as their disciplined bowling and composed batting proved too much for an Afghan side that failed to post competitive totals throughout the series.
