The Kabul Tribune (KT) — A social activist and poet has been released after nearly a month in detention in southeastern Afghanistan’s Khost province, local sources told the Kabul Tribune on Thursday.
The activist, identified as Mohammadullah Gran, was freed
after being held for 27 days by the provincial intelligence directorate,
according to the sources. Gran, a resident of Tani district, had been detained
without charge, his relatives said.
Family members said Gran had committed no crime and spent
almost a month in prison despite his innocence.
Gran was known for his community work and poetry, which was
reportedly admired by several members of the Taliban administration.
