The Kabul Tribune (KT)— Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid on Monday rejected Pakistan’s accusations against Afghanistan, saying Islamabad’s attempt to blame Kabul for its “failures” would not resolve the country’s problems.

In a post on X, Mujahid said Pakistan was facing political, security, social and economic challenges that were concerning and had negative effects across the region.

“Making baseless accusations, sabotaging negotiations and having senior officials focus entirely on propaganda instead of solutions is a failed policy,” Mujahid said.

He urged Pakistani authorities to take constructive steps to address domestic problems and respect the views and rights of the country’s politicians and people.

This comes as Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called on Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities on Monday to prevent militants from using Afghan territory to launch attacks against Pakistan.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, of operating from Afghan territory and carrying out attacks inside Pakistan. The Taliban administration has rejected the allegations, saying Afghanistan’s territory is not being used to threaten other countries.

Pakistan also imposed emergency and federal government rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
