The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Norway has contributed $2.6 million to the United Nations Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan, supporting efforts to address shared priorities and strengthen assistance to Afghan communities.
The U.N. Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan said in a
statement that the new contribution would support joint efforts by U.N.
agencies working around common priorities in Afghanistan.
“Your continued trust strengthens collective action,
enabling U.N. agencies to combine expertise around shared priorities to deliver
more for Afghan communities,” the fund said in a message thanking Norway for
the contribution.
The contribution amounts to about 25 million Norwegian
kroner, according to the fund.
The Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan was established to
help coordinate and finance a more coherent U.N. response to humanitarian and
development needs in the country.
