The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghanistan's mission to the United Nations has called on Afghans both inside the country and abroad to participate in two public surveys on Afghanistan's current situation and future.

Nasir Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan's acting permanent representative to the United Nations, urged Afghans to take part in the surveys, which are intended to gather public views, experiences, concerns and recommendations.

According to the mission, the surveys aim to ensure that the voices of Afghan citizens are reflected in U.N. discussions and international meetings on Afghanistan.

The mission said the surveys are independent, anonymous and voluntary, and are open to all Afghans living both inside and outside the country.

The initiative comes as Afghanistan marks the fifth anniversary of the Taliban's return to power. The mission said no assessment of Afghanistan's situation can be complete without hearing directly from the Afghan people.

Faiq encouraged Afghans to share their views and concerns about the country's current conditions and future direction, saying the findings would help ensure that the priorities of the Afghan people are raised in international forums.
