The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Two people were killed in a traffic accident on the Faizabad-Keshm road in northeastern Badakhshan province, the Taliban’s provincial police spokesman said.
Ehsanullah Kamgar identified the victims as Rajab and Khizr Nazar, residents of Shighnan district.
Kamgar said Rajab had recently graduated from Faryab University and was returning home when the accident occurred.
Traffic accidents are a major cause of deaths and injuries in Afghanistan, with driver negligence, failure to follow traffic rules, poor road conditions and vehicle malfunctions among the main contributing factors.
