The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The European Union Delegation in Afghanistan said it has allocated €11 million in funding through the Development Cooperation and Assistance (DCA) program to strengthen veterinary services, improve animal health and support food security and climate-resilient livelihoods across the country.

The EU Delegation made the announcement during the Afghanistan Veterinary Workforce Development Symposium, saying the funding is expected to benefit about 300,000 families across 17 provinces.

The initiative focuses on strengthening veterinary services and animal health while supporting livestock-dependent communities and improving their resilience to climate-related challenges.

The EU said the investment is aimed at contributing to food security and strengthening Afghanistan’s livestock sector, which provides livelihoods for a large number of rural households.
