The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Iranian adviser Mohsen Rezaei has claimed that 500 U.S. service members were killed during recent clashes between Iran and the United States.
Tasnim News Agency reported late Monday, Aug. 3, that Rezaei made the remarks during a news interview.
According to Tasnim, Rezaei said Iranian assessments indicate that 500 U.S. troops were killed in Iranian attacks and that a large number of others were wounded.
He also described U.S. figures reporting 650 deaths and injuries from the clashes as “unrealistic.”
Iran has not so far released official figures on casualties among its own forces during the clashes.
