The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Al Jazeera reported that U.S. President Donald Trump said he had canceled planned attacks on Iran, saying the decision was conditional on being able to “rapidly make a deal” with Tehran.

Trump said Iran and other countries in the Middle East had asked him to hold off on any attack, claiming that the outlines of a potential agreement had been reached, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

The announcement came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any “aggression” by the United States and Israel would be met with a “decisive and proportionate response.” Araghchi made the remarks during separate phone calls with Pakistan’s army chief and the foreign ministers of Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces have killed at least eight Palestinians across the Gaza Strip and destroyed a medical warehouse in Deir el-Balah, according to Al Jazeera. The attack left a crater about 20 meters (66 feet) wide and 10 meters (33 feet) deep.
