The Kabul Tribune (KT) — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces have maintained a full maritime blockade of Iran, diverting 12 commercial vessels, disabling two ships, and inspecting two others as part of ongoing naval operations in the region.
In a statement posted on X, CENTCOM said the maritime blockade remains fully in effect.
According to the statement, U.S. forces early yesterday completed the inspection and verification of the Comoros-flagged oil tanker MT Charminar in the Arabian Sea. They also disabled the oil tanker MT Liovain in the Gulf of Oman.
The announcement comes after the U.S. military halted its strikes on Iranian territory on the night of July 25, following two weeks of hostilities. As of now, no new clashes between U.S. and Iranian forces have been reported.
