The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Nearly 600 Afghan migrant families returned from Iran and Pakistan over the past day, according to the Taliban's Commission for Addressing Migrants' Problems.

The commission said 455 families entered Afghanistan through the Torkham border crossing, 49 families through Spin Boldak, 20 families through Islam Qala, and 48 families via the Silk Bridge crossing in Nimroz province.

The announcement follows the return of more than 600 migrant families the previous day, according to Taliban figures.

The number of Afghan migrants returning from Pakistan and Iran has increased in recent weeks as both countries continue deportation and repatriation efforts.

Earlier, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said that approximately 3.3 million Afghan migrants have returned to Afghanistan since the beginning of 2025.
