The Kabul Tribune (KT) — India has delivered a shipment of humanitarian assistance to people affected by the recent deadly floods in Nuristan province, expressing concern over the loss of life and widespread damage caused by the disaster.
Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the aid includes food supplies and tents, which have been handed over to the Taliban's National Disaster Preparedness Authority for distribution to affected families.
Jaiswal said India remains committed to supporting the Afghan people during the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
The assistance comes after severe flooding in Parun, the capital of Nuristan province, and several surrounding areas caused extensive damage and resulted in numerous casualties among local residents.
