The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said millions of mothers in Afghanistan continue to face the threat of malnutrition, warning that 4.9 million mothers and children across the country will require nutrition support in 2026.
In a post on X, OCHA said that for millions of mothers in
Afghanistan, remaining in the country means holding on to hope despite the
ongoing risk of malnutrition.
The U.N. agency said timely humanitarian assistance could
save lives and called attention to the urgent need for nutrition support for
vulnerable mothers and children throughout the country.
OCHA has repeatedly warned that Afghanistan remains one of
the world's most severe humanitarian crises, with millions of people continuing
to depend on humanitarian assistance.
