The Kabul Tribune (KT) — A two-and-a-half-year-old child was killed after a wall collapsed in Kunar province following heavy rain and strong winds, according to the Taliban's provincial Department of Disaster Management.
The department said the incident occurred on the night of July 11 in Sheigal district, where severe weather caused the wall to collapse.
According to Taliban officials, lightning also struck the Gulayi area during the storm, damaging a number of agricultural fields.
The department identified the child as Karimullah, son of Shawkat, and said his family had recently returned to Afghanistan.
In recent weeks, heavy rainfall, flash floods, and strong winds have caused casualties and property damage across several Afghan provinces, particularly in the country's eastern regions.
