The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Three people were killed and three others injured after a passenger vehicle overturned in eastern Afghanistan’s Laghman province on Saturday, Taliban authorities said.
The Taliban’s police command in Laghman said the accident occurred at about 8 a.m. in the Tarawo area of Alishing district when a passenger vehicle veered off the road and overturned. Authorities attributed the crash to driver negligence.
Taliban security personnel responded to the scene and transported the victims to the central hospital in Mehtarlam, the provincial capital, for treatment, according to a statement from the police command.
The three injured people were reported to be in stable condition.
The Taliban urged motorists to obey traffic laws, avoid excessive speed, inspect the mechanical condition of their vehicles and exercise caution while traveling.
Road accidents are common in Afghanistan, where poor road conditions, reckless driving, speeding and inadequate vehicle maintenance frequently contribute to fatal crashes.3 Killed, 3 Injured in Traffic Accident in Eastern Afghanistan, Taliban Say
