The Kabul Tribune(KT) — Taliban authorities have arrested a man accused of injuring three girls in Kabul after a video of the incident sparked widespread outrage on social media, officials said Monday.

Khalid Zadran, spokesperson for the Taliban-run Kabul police command, said the suspect was taken into custody along with his vehicle and is under legal investigation. He said authorities are continuing to take the necessary steps in the case but did not provide details about the suspect’s identity or a possible motive.

The arrest follows the circulation of a video that appeared to show several women walking along a street when a white vehicle with tinted windows and no license plates sped toward them, striking a number of pedestrians.

The footage was widely shared online, prompting public reaction and calls for accountability. Taliban authorities later confirmed that the incident had occurred.

Officials said three girls were injured in the incident. No further information about their conditions was immediately available.
