The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban Ministry of Industry and Commerce said that Deputy Minister Ahmadullah Zahid discussed the expansion of transport and transit cooperation with Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Transport during an official visit to the country.
In a statement, the ministry said the two sides held talks on facilitating transit, movement of Afghan cargo vehicles, and the transportation of fuel products, and stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation.
The statement added that both sides expressed hope that strengthening cooperation would further expand transport and transit relations between Afghanistan and Azerbaijan.
Afghanistan, due to its strategic geographic location as a regional transit corridor, has been seeking to expand trade and transportation links with neighboring and regional countries.
In recent years, Taliban authorities have been working to improve transit routes, increase exports, and strengthen regional economic cooperation through expanded international engagement.
