The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Taliban officials in Maidan Wardak said two women were killed after a wall collapsed in the province’s Jaghatu district.

According to a statement from the provincial governor’s office, the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 22, in Dahane village of Jaghatu district.

The victims, aged 15 and 22, died after being struck by the collapsed wall, the statement said.

A few days earlier, two children were also killed in a similar incident in the same district.

Reports indicate that dozens of incidents involving collapsing roofs and walls have been recorded in recent weeks due to continuous rainfall.

Floods and landslides during this period have killed nearly 200 people across the country, according to available data.

Recent rains have also destroyed around 20,000 homes nationwide and damaged thousands of acres of agricultural land.
