The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Taliban authorities have publicly flogged a woman in western Afghanistan’s Badghis province, according to a statement from the Taliban’s Supreme Court.
In a statement issued Tuesday, April 14, 2026, the court said the woman was punished on charges of adultery.
The woman had been sentenced by a Taliban primary court in Badghis to one year in prison and 20 lashes, the statement said, adding that the punishment was carried out after being approved by the Taliban’s Supreme Court.
The development comes as two other individuals were also publicly flogged the same day in Nangarhar and Paktia provinces on separate charges, according to Taliban authorities.
