The Kabul Tribune (KT) - Mujtaba Khamenei, the new leader of Iran, said that despite damage caused by attacks and bombings, Iran has achieved “victory” in recent conflicts with the United States and Israel.

In a statement issued on Thursday, marking the 40th day since the death of former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, he said Iran’s armed forces had turned pressure from the “enemy” into a major military achievement.

The statement called on Iranian citizens to continue attending rallies and public gatherings, which he said have been taking place across the country over the past 40 days.

He also said Iran’s management of the Strait of Hormuz would be elevated to a new level and become part of future strategy.

He urged southern neighboring countries to “understand the realities correctly” and take the right path, adding that Iran still expects goodwill and cooperation from them.

He also warned that those responsible for the attacks would not go unpunished and said Iran would seek compensation for all damages and losses.

The statement comes as high-level talks between Iran and the United States are expected to take place in Islamabad later today.
