The Kabul Tribune (KT) - Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, and Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, discussed the security and economic implications of recent developments in the region.
The meeting comes amid ongoing concerns about regional stability following a two-week ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States.
During the discussions, both sides reviewed the strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the European Union, and exchanged views on regional developments and their security and economic consequences.
Kaja Kallas said the ceasefire agreement “increases a sense of calm,” but emphasized that uncertainty in the region still remains.
She also stressed that the crisis highlights the need for stronger cooperation between the European Union and Gulf countries, particularly in the areas of security and defense.
The meeting also included discussions on ways to move beyond the temporary ceasefire and achieve lasting peace in the region.
