The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Pakistan and Qatar have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership and enhancing cooperation across key sectors, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said Tuesday.
According to the PMO, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin
Jassim Al Thani in Doha during his official visit.
The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and exchanged

over growing political and economic engagement and agreed to accelerate
cooperation in trade, investment, energy, defence and labour mobility through a
joint task force.
The PMO said both sides stressed the importance of
implementing decisions taken under existing mechanisms, including the

consultations.
Regional developments, including the situations in Gaza,
Iran and Afghanistan, were also discussed. Both leaders emphasized dialogue,
de-escalation and adherence to international law, including the UN Charter, as
essential to promoting peace and stability.
During a separate meeting, Sharif also met Qatar’s Deputy
Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin
Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, where the two sides discussed defence
and security cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to expanding
collaboration between the armed forces of both countries.
