UN Chief Says India Shows Clean Energy, Growth Can Coexist

The Kabul Tribune (KT) - António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, says India has shown that industrial development and the expansion of clean energy can advance simultaneously.

Guterres wrote on X that the world should see this as an opportunity for development and growth, and that the transition to clean energy should be carried out fairly and quickly for both people and the planet.

The UN chief emphasized that addressing climate change should not be a barrier to development, and that climate necessities can be turned into development opportunities.

He also previously said that the transition to clean energy must be made “unstoppable.”
