The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Tasnim News Agency reported that negotiations between Iran and the United States will be held indirectly on Friday, Feb. 5, in Muscat, Oman.
The outlet, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported on Wednesday, Feb. 3, that the talks will
be limited to Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of sanctions.
Earlier, Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen television network, which is
affiliated with Hezbollah, also reported that the negotiations would take place
indirectly.
In the same context, a media adviser to the commander of
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said Washington had retreated from its initial
conditions and that the negotiations would focus solely on the nuclear file.
The talks are scheduled to take place Friday in Muscat.
According to Iran’s ISNA news agency, Abbas Araghchi, Majid
Takht-Ravanchi and Kazem Gharibabadi will represent Iran in the negotiations.
During the previous round of talks, discussions were
conducted indirectly at Tehran’s insistence. However, the format and tone
proposed by Iran were met with dissatisfaction in Washington. During that
period, a 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel erupted, and the United
States targeted Iranian nuclear sites.
