The Kabul Tribune (KT) - UN Secretary-General António Guterres has stressed the urgent need to achieve a two-state solution and to end the occupation of Palestinian territories.

Guterres wrote on X: "The two-State solution with Israelis & Palestinians living side by side in peace & security is the only viable path to a just & lasting peace. The occupation must end. The inalienable rights of the Palestinian people must be realized. International law must be respected."

He emphasized that all parties must comply with international law and uphold the terms of the first phase of the peace agreement.

The remarks come as Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip continue despite a declared ceasefire, with international media reporting ongoing clashes and civilian casualties.
