Guterres Says Security Council Reform Is “Essential”

The Kabul Tribune (KT) - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has said that reforming the UN Security Council is not merely important but essential, warning that those who seek to cling to privileges today risk paying the price tomorrow.

Emphasizing the need for decisive action, Guterres said the international community must be bold enough to embrace change, stressing that “the world is not waiting. Neither should we.”

These remarks come at a time when the world is facing multiple challenges, including humanitarian crises, wars, and climate change.
