The Kabul Tribune (KT) - Iran has formally condemned statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him of inciting violence and threatening military intervention in the country.

In a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the Security Council, Iran’s Ambassador to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, said Trump’s comments directed at Iranian protesters — including calls to “keep protesting” and “take over your institutions” — encourage political destabilization, undermine Iran’s sovereignty, and violate international law.

The letter also accused the U.S. and Israel of unlawful actions that have resulted in civilian casualties, citing the failed June 2025 military campaign against Iran. It described the rhetoric as part of a broader policy aimed at regime change.

Iran urged the UN Security Council and all member states to condemn the incitement to violence, refrain from interfering in Iran’s internal affairs, and ensure compliance with international law. The letter highlighted the risk of further destabilization and called on the international community to take action to prevent potential military aggression.
