The Kabul Tribune (KT) - In a statement, the United Nations stressed that combating racism and discrimination is in the interest of all societies and plays a key role in building a more just and inclusive world.
The UN said that ending discrimination and preventing racist behavior help promote equal rights, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence within communities.
According to the statement, racism remains a global challenge, and no country can claim to be free from it. The organization emphasized that addressing racial discrimination requires coordinated efforts by governments, civil society, and individuals.
The United Nations also noted that efforts to combat racism contribute to the protection of human rights, the reduction of inequalities, and the strengthening of peace and stability at the global level.
The statement comes as the UN continues to call for the eradication of racism worldwide, while reports from Afghanistan indicate growing cultural restrictions and discrimination affecting various ethnic groups following the Taliban’s return to power.
