The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban-run Ministry of Economy says Qatar’s Al-Gharafa Charity Foundation has updated Afghan officials on the progress of several development and humanitarian projects, including a major housing initiative in Kabul and new facilities in Farah province.
According to a statement posted on the ministry’s official X
page, Economy Minister Din Mohammad Hanif met senior representatives of
Al-Gharafa to review the physical progress of the Khushhal Khan residential
project in Kabul. Foundation officials said the first phase is nearing
completion, and the second phase is expected to begin soon.
The Ministry added that Al-Gharafa has already constructed
108 housing units for vulnerable families in Farah province. Work on two
mosques and a hospital backed by the Qatar-based charity is also reported to be
close to completion.
Representatives of Al-Gharafa told the Taliban government
that the foundation plans to expand its activities and increase assistance in
2026, targeting development and humanitarian needs across multiple sectors.
