The Kabul Tribune (KT) —Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said during a gathering in Zurmat district of Paktia province that the continued closure of routes with Pakistan has not caused noticeable shortages in Afghan markets.
Mujahid stated that, in the past, even a month-long closure
of crossings would trigger public concern, “but now 54 days have passed since
all routes were closed, and no decrease is felt in the markets — which shows
good leadership and management.”
He claimed Afghanistan’s economy has improved despite the
border shutdown and added that the ruling authorities consider themselves
responsible for political, economic, agricultural and other national affairs.
Mujahid also said the Taliban remain committed to providing
“full justice” for the entire population.
