The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban-controlled Afghanistan power utility, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), said its chief executive met with Iran’s ambassador in Kabul to discuss expanding cooperation on renewable energy and equipment production.

DABS CEO Abdul Bari Omar met with Iranian Ambassador Ali Reza Baig Deli to explore opportunities for investment in clean energy and ways to strengthen technical collaboration between the two countries, the company said in a statement.

Omar highlighted what he described as growing interest in investment in Afghanistan’s renewable energy sector and urged Iranian companies to consider expanding their involvement.

Ambassador Baig Deli called Afghanistan and Iran “brotherly neighboring nations” with longstanding cultural ties and said economic and trade cooperation should be deepened. He also pledged Iran’s support, including facilitating visas for technical engineers.
