The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja
Asif on Tuesday openly blamed the “Kabul government,” referring to
Afghanistan’s Taliban authorities, for the latest suicide bombing in Islamabad
that killed nine people and injured 21 others.
In a post on X published today, Nov. 11, 2025, shortly after the attack, Asif warned
that Pakistan’s war has now reached the capital, saying it is no longer
confined to areas along the Durand Line. He wrote that those who think the army
is only fighting in border regions “must wake up,” adding that the attack in
Islamabad was a “message from Kabul.”
Asif said that officials of the “Kabul government” have the
ability to stop terrorism in Pakistan, but given the latest events, “expecting
successful negotiations with them is pointless.”
The explosion occurred outside a court complex in Islamabad,
where a suicide bomber detonated explosives near a parked police vehicle,
according to authorities.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the Islamabad attack
or Asif’s remarks, but a day earlier, they expressed condolences over a deadly
explosion in New Delhi, India, that killed eight people and injured at least 21
others.
The attack in Islamabad and Asif’s statement came amid rising
regional tensions following the New Delhi bombing.
