The Kabul Tribune (KT) —The Taliban’s Supreme Court said Wednesday that 14 individuals, including one woman, were publicly flogged in Nangarhar province on charges including running away from home, selling alcohol, sodomy, and theft.

According to a statement from the court, the punishments were carried out based on rulings from the Taliban primary court in Lal Pur district and confirmed by the Supreme Court.

Each person received between 30 and 39 lashes in public, the statement said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Taliban also reported the public flogging of another individual in Ghor province for “moral corruption.”
