The Kabul Tribune (KT)— Pakistan on Monday rejected allegations by India’s home minister linking Islamabad to certain arrests in India, calling the claims baseless and part of what it described as a campaign to divert attention from India’s domestic security challenges.
Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, said the allegations were an attempt to blame Pakistan for political gains at home.
“Pakistan strongly rejects the allegations made by India’s Home Minister,” Andrabi said in a statement responding to media queries.
Andrabi accused India of suppressing dissent and minorities domestically and alleged that New Delhi was involved in supporting terrorism abroad. He said Indian allegations could not divert international attention from what Pakistan described as India’s state-sponsored terrorism and subversive activities in other countries.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused India of involvement in terrorism and destabilizing activities inside Pakistan. Andrabi cited Kulbhushan Jadhav, a former Indian naval officer convicted by a Pakistani military court, as evidence of India’s alleged involvement in such activities.
India has rejected Pakistan’s allegations concerning Jadhav and has maintained that he was a retired naval officer who was arrested in Pakistan under disputed circumstances.
Pakistan urged the international community to reject what it called unfounded Indian allegations and to hold India accountable for alleged state-sponsored terrorism in the region.
The statement was issued in Islamabad on Aug. 17, 2026.
