The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghanistan's 2026 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan has received only 26% of the funding required, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said Wednesday.

In a post on X, OCHA said humanitarian organizations continue to provide assistance across the country despite a widening funding gap.

"Humanitarian partners continue to respond, doing all they can to reach vulnerable communities and sustain essential services despite shrinking resources," the agency said.

The United Nations has repeatedly warned that funding shortfalls are limiting humanitarian operations in Afghanistan, where millions of people depend on aid for food, health care and other basic services.
