The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it rerouted 45 ships, disrupted the operations of two vessels and inspected two others as part of its ongoing maritime blockade of Iran.

CENTCOM said in a post on X late Tuesday, Aug. 4, that the actions were carried out as part of its ongoing operations.

The U.S. military reported Monday that 44 ships had been rerouted as part of the maritime blockade.

CENTCOM recently said that more than 1,000 ships had successfully passed through the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz with the command’s assistance.

However, multiple reports have emerged of cargo ships and oil tankers being targeted while traveling through the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz.
